Business Bridge to Astrakhan

The Astrakhan region of RUSSIA visited Malaysian business delegation, with trade and Investment mission, led by Ruslan Israpil, the President of Malaysian–Russian Business Association (MALRUBA) and YBhg Dato’ Haji Mohamad Alayuddin Che Hasan, Chairman of DPMM Putrajaya.
The main purpose of the visit was familiarization with trade and investment potential of the Astrakhan region (RUSSIA).
The first meeting between Malaysian business delegation and Astrakhan government took place in official residence of the Governor and was chaired by the Governor of the Astrakhan region Mr. Alexander Zhilkin and President of Malaysian-Russian Business Association Mr. Ruslan Israpil.
Malaysian business delegation was represented by the members of Malaysian–Russian Business Association and Putrajaya Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM Putrajaya).
Astrakhan Government was represented by the Ministers: Ministry of International and Foreign Economic relations, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Natural Resources of the Astrakhan region and vice-president of the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Russia).
The Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Astrakhan region Mrs. Polyanskaya explained to Malaysian delegation about tax incentives and state support for investors, and she noted that, to investors of the Astrakhan region are given a special tax incentives and property tax incentives, grants from the regional government budget, and also the state guarantees of the Astrakhan Government.
As for certain possible joint investment projects, both, the Governor Alexander Zhilkin, and the President of Malaysian-Russian Business Association, Ruslan Israpil, named, opening in Astrakhan the Regional Distribution Center and Halal Trade Mart (food and other products), logistic hub and the first campus of Malaysian University in Russia.
Halal products made in Malaysia, could be distributed not only in the Astrakhan and other Russian regions, but also in all states located on the Caspian Sea.
Upon the results of the meetings, there were signed Memorandum of Agreement’s between the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Malaysian–Russian Business Association and between the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Putrajaya Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM Putrajaya).
